Leasing Guidelines - A Wonderful Opportunity and Great Alternative!

Why Lease?

  • It's the best way to determine if you (or your child) has the time and dedication required prior to purchasing a horse

  • Leasing allows you the experience of caring for a horse as your own and to build a wonderful bond with your equine friend

  • All of the horse's expenses including daily care, maintenance, vet/farrier fees, and any vaccines/medication are paid for by the farm

  • All lease agreements are on a month by month basis and can be discontinued for any reason after the end of the month with a weeks notification

  • Depending on the horse, bi-weekly or weekly lessons required with priority of lease horse during the lesson

  • Ride schedule is fully determined by the leaser. We only ask that the lease days stay consistent week to week unless pre-arranged

  • There are some restrictions concerning jumping, off-property travel, and equipment use that is all explained prior to commitment

We offer several lease options to fit any schedule. All leases are on property only, the horses will stay in our care as they are a part of our family!

  • Full Lease - Full access to the horse 4 days of the week and includes 2 private half-hour lessons during the month

  • Partial Lease - Partial leases can be customized from 1 to 3 rides a week with 2 private half-hour lessons during the month. Prices depending one number of lease rides per week

Available Horses for Lease

CANCANIER - "Freddie"

Freddie is a 16.2H 2006 chestnut thoroughbred gelding. 'Low Miles'! Previous foundation in Intro dressage but was mostly on the back burner. Started solid training in 2022 focusing on dressage as well as began learning how to jump and is progressing wonderfully.
He was ECRDA's Grand Champion Training level in 2023 and currently showing First Level. Definitely a jumper type ride without the tight turns but they are coming! He is a tank of a horse who is super willing and a fun ride. Always takes care of his rider. He does require at least an Advanced/Intermediate rider as he can become strong and a little quick, especially when jumping.
He has been a part of our lesson program for the more advanced riders. Competed in many local shows, most recently winning first in the 2'3 jumpers. He is schooling 2'9, lead changes, trailers like a champ and calm off property, with or without a friend. We have not been trail riding with him but he has such a solid head on his shoulders I don't think it would phase him.

SILVER LINING - "Sawyer"

Sawyer is a15.2H 8 year old dapple grey grade Quarter Horse gelding. Prior to coming to Bella, he lived in Amish Country roaming the countryside as a trail horse extraordinaire. He is an in your pocket type of guy that is happy just to follow you around.
Sawyer is still learning his new role as a part of the Bella team and is making great strides in figuring out what it means to be a hunter/jumper/lesson horse. Very willing but can sometimes get uncertain understanding what the rider is asking. Schooling up to 2' course with our trainer and cross rails with his current partial leaser.
Sawyer is only available for a partial lease at this time. He will need an intermediate rider at least as he can sometimes get a little quick and have directional disagreements.

CHROMTASTIC - "Chrome"

HUGE personality in a compact package! Chrome is the barn character and holds a special place in our hearts.
15.1 hand, 11 yr old Warmblood cross gelding. He has that classic hunter build that would fit right in at the higher level shows.
Currently schooling 2' courses, W/T/C and lead changes. You will have a fun ride every time. No spook, he is steadfast on the trails with or without friends. We have come across spicy geese, deer, foxes, groundhogs, and a blue heron that is the bane of my existence without blinking.
As much as we LOVE this horse, he will need a special person to be his leaser. Rider will need to be at least Advanced/Intermediate level and can think on your feet with confidence. If allowed he can be a bully. He does have allergies and would have you believe he is allergic to air (the sneezing seems to come on strong when asked to work...). Chrome is a special case and we would be willing to sell if we find his person.

MISSED THE CALL - "Henry

Henry is a 16H 7 yr old Thoroughbred gelding. He last raced March 2023, had a nice let down, and has been started right. I can't say enough good things about this horse. He is extremely willing, a quick learner, a complete sweetheart, and he has the most comfy canter I have ever felt on a TB.
He is currently schooling 2'3 and consistently showing in the 2' hunters and Intro Level dressage. We couldn't be happier with his progress and are excited for what's to come.
Henry is a sensitive ride and will need an Advance/Intermediate rider the help him continue his training. Soft hands and quiet aides are a must! While he has been one of the easiest OTTO restarts we have had he is still a baby TB that needs time and polishing.
